As most of you know, the Northwest its an outdoor community. Lots of people walk to work and ride their bikes. In most big cities you also see bike couriers who ride what are called "fixies." A "fixie" is type of bike with a single sprocket in the back (meaning there are no gears). This particular set up allows the rider to pedal forwards and backwards, there is no freewheel (meaning you cannot just stop pedaling, if the bike is moving so are your feet). I am in the process of picking one up myself for a new mode of transportation (plus they are exciting). There is so much more area to access while on a bike in Vancouver.
So for one of my research classes we are in the process of picking a topic to write a researchu paper on. Any ideas, or requests? Anything you always wanted to know the truth about? For example, does consuming an amino acid blend post work out have any benefit? Is drinking a protein shake better before, during, or after a workout?
Cheers,

Here's a couple of ideas I'd like to learn more about.
ReplyDelete1)How should humans eat and excercise based on their blood type? Old blood such as type O require more meat and thrive on intense physical activity. Newer blood types A/B are more plant and veggie compatible.
2)Looking back on human evolution, we evolved on a diet of gorging and starvation (fasting). What are the benifits of short term fasting cycles? Can we digest or burn off the toxic, weaker, sick cells in our body by fasting and therfore improve our health and life span.

Love your pics Alec!!:) - Tanya
ReplyDeleteUncle Richard, great ideas man, I really like both of them, I think I might actually have to write a paper on #2, intermediate fasting. I have been looking into that for a long time and have found that there a many mixed ideas about it.
ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned 8.31.11 I am starting to experiment with my diet in several ways mostly because I am trying to stay on a budget ha. Anyways, I started eating 3 meals a day instead of 5-6 and was going to try intermediate fasting on Sunday's (there would be a small meal at night before bed). My 3 meals I eat daily include tons of protein, tons of fat, and minor carbohydrates (mainly vegetables, I will have an apple with the meal before my workout). I will keep you posted on how it's going.
Thanks for all the ideas, I will definitely look into them!
Tanya I am glad your following the blog and enjoying the pictures!
